The fifth Paula Rantakallio Symposium on Birth Cohorts and Longitudinal Studies was organized in Oulu from June 12th to June 14th. This year’s edition of the Symposium focused on deciphering early determinants and environmental impacts on lifelong health, including climate change. The event brought together researchers and professionals from different countries and different fields of study.
The event was full of presentations and discussions that explored how early life factors and environmental conditions influence health outcomes throughout an individual’s life.
The agenda featured numerous presentations and poster sessions. TRIGGER was represented at the Symposium with two posters from our partners at the University of Oulu. Warner van Kersen presented the Retro-CLAVIS-study, linking weather indicators to blood pressure in the Northern Finland Birth Cohorts. Anna Remes explained about the Cross-CLAVIS-study and the data collection she is doing for studying the associations between weather events and characteristics of patients admitted to Oulu University hospital.
