Before the summer period, Finland, held its inaugural stakeholder meeting, gathering local representatives from NGOs in the health and climate sectors. This meeting marked a critical step in establishing the Oulu CHC lab and presenting its objectives to the local stakeholders that will be involved in the different activities planned ahead
Organised by the TRIGGER partners from the University of Oulu, Dr Anna Pulakka and Dr Tiina Ikäheimo, the kick-off session introduced the TRIGGER project to the local community. It also fostered an open dialogue with local stakeholders, enabling them to share valuable insights from their areas of expertise.
During the Oulu stakeholder meeting, a dynamic discussion unfolded on key climate-related issues, including biodiversity loss, waste management, and the growing health risks of climate change. Participants were eager to learn more about local actions to mitigate these risks and expressed a strong interest in understanding what individuals can do to help combat climate change on a personal level.
The stakeholder meetings, such as the one in Oulu, play a pivotal role in the success of the TRIGGER project by facilitating local dialogue and gathering critical insights that inform its efforts to mitigate climate-induced health threats.
