TRIGGER will deepen current understanding of the linkage between climate, health and ecosystems (exposome framework) and use this knowledge to advance society uptake at personal and policy level. To meet the ambition, TRIGGER will commit an interdisciplinary consortium of 22 partners in 15 countries that will develop an outreaching clinical study composed by a multi-dimensional approach that capitalizes also on existing retrospective studies and will build an international climate service for global health protection, in line with COPERNICUS initiatives.
our Pillars

Trans-disciplinary investigations to build up systemic knowledge
We aim to integrate diverse research domains and engage citizens to transform perceptions into evidence-based insights on environmental and climate change impacts on health.

Integration and
usability of
research results
We strive to bridge knowledge gaps, link expertise, and develop coherent, targeted tools to make climate and health data accessible and actionable for all stakeholders.

Practical Know-How and Workable Tools
We seek to empower communities with user-friendly platforms and guidelines that help mitigate environment-related health risks effectively.
The engine of the TRIGGER Project is 5 Climate-Health Connection (CHC) Labs built in the 5 European cities of Augsburg (Germany), Bologna (Italy), Geneve (Switzerland), Heraklion (Greece), and Oulu (Finland).
The 5 CHC Labs will be the source for the studies’ data collection, engaging citizens, practitioners, and policymakers representing various climatic, social, economic, and cultural contexts.

CLIMATE-HEALTH CLUSTER
TRIGGER is one of the 6 Horizon Europe projects, BlueAdapt, CATALYSE, CLIMOS, HIGH Horizons, IDAlert, and TRIGGER, form the climate change and health cluster.
All cluster projects address climate change-induced health risks and help increase preparedness and adaptation by creating synergies, sharing experiences and knowledge, and developing aligned communication actions to maximise impact.
